I consider myself to be lucky because I get to 'play' on a computer most days. I love being able to take an idea I've had like a new image or poem and sit down at the laptop and create something that captures that idea. Although at times it was and still is challenging learning the software, I find it really liberating to be able to quickly place images, text, video and audio together in a creative way. Better than that, as a teacher/trainer I get to help other people do the same thing: to learn how to express themselves with digital tools. So I'm also lucky because I love my 'day' job.

A typical day would involve planning how I will 'teach' something, delivering classes on lots of different topics like design and software and then assessing people's progress so that I can help them reach their goal. Teaching adults provides me an opportunity to meet lots of interesting people with fresh ideas, to travel and to keep my skills up to date. I find that there is always a lot happening around me, and that keeps me energised.

My job is pretty flexible and that's great because it leaves me some time to pursue other things that are important. This includes my study, my digital art and especially my family.
